About Us

For almost 15 years, we’ve been making games for each other. We’ll be driving to the airport and one of us will say, “Hey, wanna make a game real quick?” And by the time we arrive, we’ve invented a new trivia game that we play with our friends a week later.

We met the week before classes started at the University of Houston. Both of us were planning to audition for an amateur theatre organization there. Within a couple of years, we were running it together. We quickly discovered that we make an incredible duo, both as friends and creative partners. John sees the forest, Bailey sees the trees, and we both see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We’ve been roommates, coworkers, drinking buddies, shoulders to cry on, roommates again, and two people who love and respect each other a massive amount.

This world has so much mandatory un-fun. And neither of us believe that’s the way anyone is meant to spend the brief 0.74 centuries they’re allotted. For almost 15 years, we’ve made games for each other because we believe that life is worth enjoying, is meant to be enjoyed, and what’s the point of being stranded on this floating rock if we’re not helping each other enjoy it?

So that’s what we’re here to make: an assorted collection of ways to find respite from the ever-encroaching un-fun. We hope it helps.

😘,
John and Bailey

BAILEY

Pronouns? she/he/they

Day job? Social media manager

Education? BA in Creative Writing, and half a seminary degree (long story)

Relationship status? Living with my favorite person I’ve ever met, intending to do so forever

Favorite board games:

  • Oldest? Star Wars: Epic Duels

  • Newest? Final Girl (I’m gay)

  • GOAT? Sentinels of the Multiverse (Nightmist mains, rise UP 😍)

Favorite video games:

  • Oldest? Super Smash Bros. (Ness mains, sit DOWN 😍)

  • Newest? Dispatch (dreamed of a game like this for YEARS, still can’t believe it exists)

  • GOAT? Dragon Age: Inquisition (are there any Dragon Age fans who don’t have religious trauma? I’ve never met any.)

Gaming pet peeve? I never want to dodge roll ever. Being a tumbleweed is not my power fantasy. If I have to dodge, let me dash or backflip or teleport. I am playing a GAME I want to feel COOL.

Gaming soft spot? I like when board games give names, personalities, birthdays, etc. to the characters you’re playing as. Even and especially when it has no effect on the gameplay whatsoever.

Role at MHG? I forget deadlines so that John can remind me.
